March 20, 1933 ~ December 25, 2024

Bennington, OK- Evelyn (Percell) Allen was born Monday, March 20th, 1933 at the home place in Bennington, Oklahoma to Fairlee Franklin Percell and Ethel Dollie (Miller) Percell. Evelyn passed from this life on Christmas Day after succumbing to health issues at the age of 91.

Evelyn is a lifelong resident of Bennington where she grew up and attended school. She worked at Texas Instruments in Sherman for 22 years carpooling to work from Bennington. Evelyn was a machinist but retired as a tool crib attendant. Evelyn had a passion for working and could outwork many people when she was in her 70s.

Family was very important to Evelyn as she treated her nieces and nephews as her own children. Evelyn enjoyed being outdoors whether she was gardening, picking up pecans or weed eating using her walker. She had a love for her pet dog, Prissy, and Charlie the cat. Evelyn could dance with the best of them as she attended many country and western dances.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, F.F. Percell and Ethel Percell; a brother, Fred Dean Percell and a sister, June Patty.

She leaves behind her son, Freddie Allen of Bennington; nieces Ronda Akins, Katrina Buchanan, and Amanda Vandenburg; nephews Jeff Percell and Brad Percell; great nieces and nephews Wyatt Rhodes, Elaina Buchanan, Bryce Vandenburg, Jesse Akins, Matthew Buchanan, and Cole Vandenburg; as well as other extended family members.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 28th, at the Bennington Cemetery pavilion with Bro. Danny Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Bryce Vandenburg, Wyatt Rhodes, Jeff Percell, Brad Percell, Mike Vandenburg, Jason Buchanan, Matthew Buchanan, and Cole Vandenburg.
