Services to celebrate the life of Juanita Keeth Akins, 88, lifelong resident of Bryan County who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at her home, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Bokchito Church of Christ. Ernest Sturch and John Frank will officiate.

Juanita was born July 13, 1920, in Bennington, Oklahoma to Alvie and Nellie Carter Keeth.

She attended school and later married Elmer Akins in 1938 at Jackson, Oklahoma. She worked as Postmaster and was a member of the Postal Workers Association.

She was a member of the Bokchito Church of Christ and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with family and friends and spending time on her front porch. Juanita will be greatly missed by all who knew and dearly loved her.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Nellie Keeth; husband, Elmer Akins; son, Ronnie Akins; sisters, Fay Ferguson and Imajean Brantley and grandson, Keith Akins.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, LaNell Dollins and Charles Akins and wife Suzanne of Bokchito, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Deborah Graumann, Michael Dollins and wife Roxann, Tammy Haddock and husband John, Pam Wagner and husband Randy, Ronda Akins and Brian Akins and wife Marianne; sister, Betty Thomas; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special friend and neighbor Mary Jo Frank; and other relatives and a host of dear and loved friends.

Interment will be in Bennington Cemetery with Michael Dollins, John Haddock, Randy Wagner, Brian Akins, Trent Wagner and Kevin Jeffries serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
