Ed Smith a resident of Bokchito, Oklahoma and beloved family member passed from this life to soon on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the age of 57 years 2 months and 12 days. He was born on October 8, 1958 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to Billy Jim and Dorthy Lucille (Vanderburg) Smith.
Ed loved being outside hunting, fishing or looking for arrow heads. He also enjoyed taking care of the cattle. Ed cared for his family and friends and always looked forward to time they could spend together.
Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Latasha White of Achille, Oklahoma; son, Trey White of Achille, Oklahoma; mother, Dorothy Smith of Bokchito, Oklahoma; mother of his children, Cynthia White of Achille, Oklahoma; brothers, Billy Smith and wife Glenda of Yuba, Oklahoma and Cale Smith of Bokchito, Oklahoma; sisters, Linda Lawson and husband Johnny of Albany, Oklahoma, Sheron Meek and husband Bill of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Brenda Smith of Bokchito, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his father, Billy Jim Smith; grandparents, Cale and Grace Smith and Pete and Virgie Vandenburg.
Family Hour will be from 6-7:00 PM Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Albany Cemetery in Albany with Jeremy Dunegan officiating. Pallbearers will be Trey White, Randy Smith, Jack Lawson, Billy Lawson, Terry Gilbert, Carey Gilbert, Michael Jackson, and Terry Terrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Gilbert, Keith Castleberry, Raymond Paddock, Willie White, Bill Meek, Kody Meek, Aaron Dunegan, Ray Wilson and Billy Ed Minyard.
