Durant, OK- Betty Francis Heflin was born Friday, February 12, 1943 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to parents Perry Heflin and Theordora (Terrell). She passed from this life into her Eternal home on Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Sherman, Texas at the age of 79.
Betty grew up and graduated from Yuba High School in Yuba, Oklahoma. She worked for Kraft Foods in Garland, Texas for over thirty-five years. Betty had a knack for doing crafts, making flower arrangements and working with pottery. She enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, loved to go shopping and had a passion for buying shoes. Betty married Billy Wayne Smith on November 8th, 2018 in Durant. She was a member of the Mead Baptist Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Ted Louie Potts; her parents; sister Mary Tadlock; and brother Bobby Heflin.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Smith of Durant, OK; son Tim Potts and his wife, Janet, of Garland, TX; daughter Lisa Moore and her husband, Stephen, of Dodd City, TX; her siblings Woody Heflin and his wife Martha, Shirley Martin and her husband Jim, Butch Heflin and his wife Sandy, and Bonnie Rowland and her husband Johnny; grandchildren Nick King and wife Madeline, Sean King, and Chase Potts; great grandchildren Kendall, Teddy, Charlie and Madeline; and numerous extended family and close friends.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, October 28th, at Brown’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 29th, at Brown’s Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Kerry Groce officiating. Committal services will follow at Albany Cemetery with Nick King, Sean King, Chase Potts, Weldon White, Duston Heflin, and Bub Heflin serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be David Potts and Mike Wilmany.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
