G.W. "Gene" Robertson a resident of Albany, Oklahoma passed away in Calera, Oklahoma on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the age of 71 years and 12 days. He was born in Winnebago, Minnesota on Saturday, January 3, 1942 to Cecil and Sarah (Munson) Robertson.
Gene married Glenda Conditt in Arlington, Texas on Friday, June 17, 1983. Gene served in the United States Navy. He was an electrician by trade. Gene was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Ft. Worth, Texas. He enjoyed his cattle and drinking coffee under the tree.
Mr. Robertson is survived by his wife, Glenda, of the home; grandchildren, J.T., Mia, Marissa and Dalton Beames of the home; brother, Donald Robertson and wife Patty of Northfield, Minnesota; sister, Carolyn Golner and husband Dennis of Sussex, Wisconsin; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Sarah Robertson; sons, Thomas W. Robertson and James R. Beames.
Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service in his honor will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Bro. Jackie Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Albany Cemetery in Albany, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Heflin, Rick Steward, Michael Day, Paul Stanford, Frank Strickland and Royce Allen. Honorary Pallbearer are Jim Smith, Jim Sullivan, and James Heflin.
