Jerry Potts of Bokchito, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012 in Gainesville, Texas at the age of 74 years 8 months and 4 days. He was born on Tuesday, May 25, 1937 in Albany, Oklahoma to Theodore Roosevelt and Anna Juanita Dobson Potts.
He married Darla Gannon May 6, 1960 in Albany, Oklahoma they were married for 47 years.
Jerry served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1960 thru 1962.
He was a faithful member of the Baptist faith.
He loved to go hunting and fishing and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the OU Sooners play football.
Jerry was a member of the Albany Masonic Lodge 159. But most of all he loved his great grandson and spending time with his family.
Mr. Potts is survived by his daughter, Karla Potts and great grandson, Aiden Jeffery Potts of the home; son, Jerry Lynn Potts of Dallas, Texas; grandson, John Potts of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Potts of Dallas, Texas; greatgrandsons, Ayden and Brandon Potts of Dallas, Texas; brothers, James Potts and wife Evelyn of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Larry Potts and wife Linda of Durant, Oklahoma and Gene Potts of Albany, Oklahoma; sister, Mary Hurst and husband Luther of Emory, Texas.
Mr. Potts was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Anna Potts; wife, Darla Potts who passed away September of 2007; daughter and sonin-law, Sonya and Terry Crawford; granddaugther, Heather Crawford; grandson, Brandon Crawford; brothers, Frankie, Joe, Mickey "Jenks" and Ted Potts; sister, Wilma Williams, Oleta Richardson and Ann Staton. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the Faith Baptist Church in Bokchito, Oklahoma with Bro. Scott Melton and Bro. Jimmy Parker officiating.
Interment will follow at Albany Cemetery in Albany, Oklahoma.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Steward, Phillip Staton, Tim Potts, Joe Thompson, Chase Thompson, Lance Thompson, David Potts, and Gerald "Willie" Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Steward, Marshall Jackson, Danny Jackson and Tub Dollins.
