"Sissy" Ida Mae Pickett, age 75, entered into the arms of her Lord and savior on June 17, 2024, with her family by her side. Sissy was born on August 28,1948 in Boswell, Oklahoma to Jack and Josephine Lawson. Sissy attended Davidson schools and lived in Bryan County all of her life. She was a Christian woman and attended Albany Baptist Church. She married Donald "Don" Pickett on January 27, 1970, in Durant. She worked as a contract laborer, and she enjoyed gardening.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Josephine Lawson. Her sisters Laura Adkisson, Clara Greenhaw, and Nelta Joe Lawson, her brothers Albert Lawson, Floyd Lawson, Noel Lawson, Henery Lawson, Ronnie Lawson, Freddie Lawson, Kalvin Lawson, Donnie Lawson, Randy Lawson, and Sisters-in-law Lillie Mae Lawson, Lillie Vern Lawson, and Beverly Lawson.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband Don Pickett of the home. Her sisters Dorothy Greenhaw and husband Thomas of Utica, Ruby Stone King of Albany. Her brother Johnny Lawson and wife Linda of Albany her brothers in law Jerry Pickett and wife Kim of Roberta, Mike Pickett and wife Dortha of Roberta, James Pickett and wife Susie of Roberta, Buzzy Adkisson of Oklahoma City, and sisters-in-law Ellis Lawson of Milburn and Lena Mae Lawson of Konawa, OK.
Funeral service is scheduled for Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Albany Baptist Church, Brother Clark Harp to officiate, with burial to follow at Albany Cemetery in Albany Oklahoma. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant Oklahoma for visitation. Serving as pallbearers are Randy Smith, Randall Greenhaw, Jack Lawson, Brent Pickett, Billy Lawson, Brad Smith, Justin Graham, and Leon Lawson.
