December 5, 1932 - August 13, 2026

Billie Ruth "Mimi" (Sullivan) Castleberry, age 93, of Bonham, Texas, passed away on August 13, 2026. She was born on December 5, 1932, in Albany, Oklahoma, to Arthur Leroy Sullivan and Myrtle Ruth (Crunk) Sullivan. She married the love of her life, James Allan Castleberry, on December 22, 1952, in Rockwall, Texas. Together they celebrated almost 63 years of marriage before his passing on December 19, 2015. Billie lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many people who were blessed to know her.

Mimi was a Christian woman whose life reflected the values she held dear. She was known for her gentle spirit, her passionate love for others, and her selfless nature. She had a gift for making people feel cared for and welcomed, and she carried that gift into every part of her life. To many, she was more than a mother and grandmother. She was a steady source of comfort, encouragement, and unconditional love, and she truly was a mother to all.

A dedicated worker, Mimi served as a Postmaster with the United States Postal Service. She took pride in her work and carried out her responsibilities with care and dependability. Her strong work ethic and kind manner left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside her and those she served through the years. She approached life with quiet strength and dignity, and she was respected for the example she set.

Family was the center of Mimi's world. She loved raising children and grandchildren, and she found great joy in helping her grandchildren with their homework and being present in their lives. Her home and her heart were always open, and she created a place where love, laughter, and support were freely given. She especially enjoyed homemade vanilla ice cream and Milky Way candy bars, simple pleasures that brought her happiness and reflected her appreciation for life's sweet moments.

Mimi is survived by her sons, James "Red" Arthur Castleberry and his wife Deanne of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Keith Castleberry of Albany, Oklahoma. She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, including Mandi Calaway of Bonham, Texas; Travis Castleberry and his wife Mindi of Dodd City, Texas; Sarah Whittington of Oklahoma; Lacy Hunt and her husband Lucas of Oklahoma; Ben Crocker and his wife Kinsey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Jessie Castleberry of Marietta, Oklahoma; Krystal Salinas and her husband Juan of Gainesville, Texas; Levi Crocker of Girona, Spain; Melissa Boaz and her husband David of Whitesboro, Texas; and Trent Castleberry of Denver, Colorado. She also leaves behind honorary grandchildren Ragan and Mia, along with a large and cherished family of great-grandchildren, including Jaron, Katland, Rylei, Jaime, Eva, Jude, Madi, Jaxon, Jadynn, Eddie, Micah, Kristian, Adeline, Jarrett, Kristy, Jessie, Ryker, James, Marley, and Maggie, as well as a great-great-granddaughter, Sophia.

She is also survived by her siblings Bobby Leroy Sullivan, Mary Boyd, Glenda Sue, Buddy Crunk and his wife Rulana, Joan Ella and her husband Gilbert, Jimmy Dell, and Peggy Marie. Billie was preceded in death by her husband, James Castleberry; her son, Steve Mark Castleberry; her parents, Arthur Leroy and Myrtle Ruth Sullivan; her brother, Joe Donald; and her great-grandchildren, Hagen and Wesley.

Family hour will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Utica Baptist Church with Pastor John Heath officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Albany Cemetery.
