Glenda J. (Noble) Wilkinson
September 25, 1938 ~

Glenda J. Wilkinson was born September 25, 1938, on the farm west of Watonga to Glenn and Kathleen (Foreman) Noble and passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the age of 84.

Glenda grew up in the Watonga area graduating from Watonga High School in 1956. In 1955 she married Johnny Wilkinson. They lived in Ft. Worth, Texas for about six years before moving back to the Watonga area. To their union two sons were born: Brent Wilkinson in 1961 and Scott Wilkinson in 1962. Johnny passed away in 1965. In 1967 a tornado hit the farm, so Glenda and the boys moved to town in Watonga.

Glenda married Guy Wilkinson Jr. in 1968 and to that union Steven Wilkinson was born. They all resided in Africa for a couple of years, moving back to the US in 1973. At this time Glenda attended the University of Oklahoma Nursing school and received her degree in nursing in 1975. She worked at the Watonga Hospital for a few years before she attended Central State University attaining her Bachelor of Science in Funeral Service. Glenda became a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in the State of Oklahoma at a time when the field was dominated by men. She purchased what is now Wilkinson Mortuary in 1978, then purchased Wilkinson Mortuary in Okeene, OK in 1983. Glenda retired in 1998 and moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 2009 where she resided until her death. Glenda loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid artist making many stained glass pieces for family and friends. She also loved antiquing and gardening.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnny Wilkinson in 1965 and husband Guy Wilkinson Jr. in 1994, one sister; Sherry Cunningham and one brother; Terry Noble.

She is survived by:

…………………………………….Steven Wilkinson and wife Paula of Edmond, OK

One sister…………………….Pat Badry of Oklahoma City, OK

Two grandchildren………Barkley Wilkinson and fiancé Macy Nitzel of Watonga, OK

……………………………………Kenna Wilkinson of Edmond, OK

As well as numerous other relatives and friends who will miss her.

Funeral services for Glenda will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Watonga with Rev. Keith Wilkinson officiating. Burial following in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga. Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to The International Project.
