Watonga – The funeral for Clyde Thomas Tillery, 90, who died Sunday,
December 20, 1992, at Sunset Estates Nursing Home, will be at 2 PM Wednesday
at Trinity Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Constant will officiate. Burial will
be in Watonga I00F Cemetery under direction of Wilkinson Mortuary.
He
was born July 5, 1902, at Forney, Texas, to Virgil Thomas and Mary Leola
Malone Tillery. He spent most of his childhood years in the Dallas, Texas,
area. He served with the US Army Calvary in Panama and in Africa. After his
discharge, he lived in White Sands, New Mexico, and worked with the Civil
Service in communication as an electrical lineman. He lived in several places
before moving in 1963 to Watonga where he operated a car wash facility.
On October 25, 1964, he married Nina Collier.
Surviving are two
sons, Harvey and Joe Collier of Watonga; one daughter, LaVerna Bumgardner of
Pikeville, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 22 great – grandchildren; and several
other children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife,
one son and one great – grandson.
