On October 21, 2020 Lynda Sims Swann, loving wife, mother, and grandma passed away at age 76.
Lynda was born on January 16th, 1944 to Kenneth and Onajo Sims. Lynda was raised in Watonga and later received her Pharmacy degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1967. She enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a pharmacist for the Indian Health Service.
On August 8th, 1967, Lynda married Dale Swann and they raised their family in Watonga. They had two children, Andy Swann of Enid, and Katy Swann Soper of Oklahoma City.
Lynda had a passion for her grandchildren Austin, Maggie, and AJ Swann and Henry Soper. Lynda was a children's Sunday School teacher for many years at the First Christian Church of Watonga. Lynda loved bird watching, gardening, cooking , and collecting Hallmark Christmas ornaments.
Lynda was preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her husband Dale, her son Andy and his wife Christie and their three children Austin, Maggie & AJ Swann, her daughter Katy and her husband Jason and their son Henry Soper; as well as her brother Nelson Sims and wife Janie and their family.
Lynda was beloved by many and will be missed. A celebration of life will be held at the Watonga First Christian Church on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Adam Lovitt officiating. The family will hold a short reception after to greet friends and family. A private family burial will be held after. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church in Watonga OK.
