Roberta Faye (Steger) House was born February 25, 1928 at Vernon, Texas to Roy and Trudie Steger, and passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the age of 94.
Roberta attended and graduated from Crooked Oak High School, in Oklahoma City. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Watonga, PEO, and the Bridge Club. She loved to cook; her specialty was fried potatoes and poke salad. Her family loved the fact that she never remembered the cornbread in the oven until it was time for desert. She cooked phenomenal meals for any evens she was able; whether it was church gatherings, funeral meals, or other community organizations, if she was able, she helped provide.
Roberta married Jerry House on February 17, 1947 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She and Jerry moved to the Watonga community in 1960, where they owned and operated Hi De Ho café, The Sleepy Hollow Inn in Red River, New Mexico, the End O’Main Restaurant and Catering, as well as Temptations Gifts in Watonga. In 1984 The End O’Main was honored as the Small Business of the Year in Oklahoma, which made it eligible for the National Business of the Year in Washington, D.C.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and five siblings.

Special friend…………. Johnny France of Watonga, OK
Eight grandchildren..Tracie Popp and husband Randall, Kristi Hock and husband J.R., Ruff House, Chris Meier and wife Amy, Staci Lockhart Roach and husband Jay, Landon House and wife Amber, Nicholas House and wife Amanda and Jeff Meier.
19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Viewing and visitation will be held Wedneday, January 11 from 12 to 8p.m. at Wilkinson Mortuary.
Funeral services for Roberta will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Watonga with Pastor Jim Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga. Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements.
