Roy G. Arthur was born July 12, 1939, at Geary, Oklahoma to Roy and Opal (Lancaster) Arthur and passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at the age of 83. Roy was a resident of the Watonga community for most of his life. He worked at the Southard USG, doing carpentry work for a short period of time and was a lifeguard at Roman Nose State Park in his 20’s. He drove a transport truck for Trojan, and later purchased Trojan Dozer Services for $5,000 and started his own Mr. Dozer business in 1977 and ran that until 1984. After that, Roy hauled cattle until his retirement.
He attended Waynoka, Woodward, Fay, and Watonga schools growing up and was a member of the Methodist Church of Fay, Oklahoma, as well as the Elks Lodge of Watonga and the Watonga Bowling League in the 1970’s. He was married to Mary Ann Nance at the Methodist Church in Fay, Oklahoma on September 22, 1962.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Chive Jo and Betty Marie, and one nephew, Lane Arthur.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of the home in Watonga; one son, Travis Arthur and his wife, Jona, of Watonga, Oklahoma; two daughters Sabrina Keenan and husband Steve of Watonga, Oklahoma and Marisa Moran and husband Richard of Elk City, Oklahoma; one brother, Weldon Lane “Butch” Arthur and his wife, Juanita, of Yukon, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Micah Morris and husband Jeremie, Josh Arthur, Coy Keenan and wife Haylie, Maisha Boeckman and husband Matt, Kasen Moran and Mylee Moran; four great-grandchildren Kane Arthur, Charlie and Averie Morris, and Reed Robert Boeckman.
Public viewing for Roy will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 10:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Viewing for Roy Gale Arthur will be Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 11A.M. to 8P.M. at Wilkinson Mortuary.
Funeral services for Roy G. Arthur will be held Friday, November 18, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the Fay Auditorium in Fay, Oklahoma, burial will follow in the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Watonga. Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements.
