The funeral for Oteka Westfahl, 86, of Okeene, will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21,
2009, at Okeene Mennonite Brethren Church. The Rev. Bennet Peters will
officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Viewing will be 1:30-5 p.m.
today at Lanman Funeral Home Inc., of Okeene, and before the service at the
church.
She was born Nov. 1, 1923, in Oklahoma City, to C.C. Peters and Minnie Scheffler
Peters and died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Summit Living Center in Okeene.
She married Roy Westfahl Oct. 24, 1944, in Enid.
She lived most of her life in the Okeene area but spent two years in San Diego.
She helped with the farm, taught school and coached basketball at Homestead and
coached at Isabella. She was a member of Okeene Mennonite Brethren Church.
Surviving are her husband, Roy, of Okeene; two sons, Ralph Westfahl of Ringwood
and Byron Westfahl of Mustang; five grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Mennonite Central Committee.
