Funeral services for Mildred Ruth Slaght age 90 will be Friday November 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Harvest Church in Okeene, OK.
Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Okeene, OK, following the service.
The funeral service for Mildred Ruth Slaght age 90 will be Friday November 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Harvest Church in Okeene, OK. Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene in charge of arrangements.
Pastor Duane Berg of the First Church of God will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Okeene, OK, following the service.
Mildred was born at Okeene hospital August 8, 1929 to Henry and Rachel (Laubach) Jantzen.
She attended 12 years at Okeene school and graduated in 1947. Upon graduation she attended Enid Business College and graduated with a degree in bookkeeping. She went to work for Dr. Waldo Newell. She left her job in Enid and returned to Okeene to marry Kenneth Slaght. They married February 13, 1949 and made their home in Okeene, Oklahoma. She worked several jobs in Okeene and helped Kenneth with the farm work.
She enjoyed volunteer work, including working the blood drive and the Blaine Co. Election board for many years. She helped her dad with his Pioneer Furniture business. She also spent many hours doing decorative painting for gifts and art shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby brother.
She was survived by her husband, Kenneth Slaght.
Two daughter, Linda K. Taylor of Okeene, OK and Sandra Dahlem and husband Nathan of Okeene, OK.
One sister, Dorothy Randolph of Enid, OK.
Three grandchildren, Trevor Taylor and wife Lillie of Okeene, OK; Rachel Dahlem of OKC, OK; and Andrew Dahlem of Okeene, OK.
Two great grandchildren… Hayden Taylor and Wyatt Dahlem.
As well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. In lieu of flowers
memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
