The funeral for Murrel Krause, 90, of Okeene will be 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Okeene. George Rowe will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 6, 1914, at Okeene to Henry and Lydia Hill Krause and died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at his home.

He attended Prairie Dell country school and Okeene High School.

He married Cecelia Mary Oberst in Enid, Jan. 5, 1935. They made thier home near Homestead until 1980, when they moved to Okeene.

He was a farmer, working his land and the land of Leonard Robinson. In 1980, he was awarded Good Steward of the Land by Cimarron Valley Conservation and was inducted into the Blaine County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 1996. He was a member of United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his children, Merlene Lamle, Donald "Red" Krause and Vivian Schnell, all of Okeene; one sister, Mary Lou Gerken of Farmington, N.M.; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Cecilia, he was preceded in death by one brother and one grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Okeene Hospital Building Fund, Okeene Methodist Church or Faith Hospice.
