The funeral for Clarion Geis, 88, of Hitchcock, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Immanuel Baptist Church, near Loyal. The Rev. Roger Freelander will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery , near Okeene. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Okeene. Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and after the service on Wednesday.

He was born Oct. 30, 1920, near Hitchcock to Ezra and Mollie Greb Geis and died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Okeene Hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of Hitchcock, graduating from high school there.

He married Dorothy Mae Duffy Aug. 28, 1943. She died Feb. 23, 1982.

He was a farmer.

He was a member of Loyal Lions Club, served on the board of directors at Sooners Cooperative from 1967 to 1988, served on Hitchcock school board, was a Blaine County FSA committeeman for 15 years and was a lifetime member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Loyal, where he was church treasurer for 50 years.

He was named Co-op Director of the Year for 1979 by the Farmers Cooperative Grain Dealers Association and was inducted into Blaine County Hall of Fame in 1993.

Surviving are his children, Jeanette Wright of La Feria, Texas, Sandra Dotter of Clinton and Danny Geis of Loyal; one brother, Don Geis of Norman; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Immanuel Baptist Church building fund.
