Carol Ann Fisher was born December 22, 1939, in Enid to Vernon E. and Georgia (Miner) Wilson. She attended early grades in Marshall and Enid schools. In 1951 she and her family moved to Okeene, where she graduated in 1957. It was there that she met her future husband, whose family lived across the street.
Carol and Leland Fisher were married May 11, 1957, at Okeene First Baptist Church. They soon started their own family, welcoming three sons, first Rick, then Tim, and Mick. Carol worked at the Okeene Hospital, Okeene Tag Office, and Hollytex/Sequoia Carpet Factory in Watonga before settling at USG in Southard as a billing clerk, where she spent twenty-four years before retiring in 2000.
Carol had many hobbies but enjoyed league bowling, playing cards, attending her sons' sporting events. She was a member of the Okeene Child Study Club. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Leland and Carol were well known in the community for always having an open door for anyone needing a place to go for love, food, guidance, and structure. They took in many and loved them all.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and her husband's parents; one brother-in-law; three sisters-in-law as well as many good friends.
Carol is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Leland Fisher; three sons, Rick Fisher and wife Dorothy of Okeene, Tim Fisher and wife Valinda of Thomas, Mick Fisher and wife Carla of Okeene. She also had fourteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren at the time of her death of whom she was very proud. There are many honorary children, too many to list, but equally loved. She is also survived by one sister, Susan Hoover and husband Darrell of Mustang, and two brothers, Roger Wilson of Ponca City and Gary Wilson and wife Susan of Spring, Texas.
