ENID, Okla. — Funeral service for Jane Norine Dumler, 93, will be 10 a.m.
Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at First Christian Church, Okeene, with Pastor
Greg McNall officiating. Visitation will be today at the funeral home and
from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until service time at the church. Burial will be in
Roselawn Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, Enid.
Norine was born to Grant and Eleanor (Hall) Sproul on the family farm in
Isabella on March 6, 1920, and passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, in Enid.
Norine attended Isabella Grade School with her two brothers, Andy and Mark.
During her grade school years, Norine (or “Sister” as she was called by her
family) became an accomplished oil painting artist. Today, her family enjoys
numerous pieces of her artwork.
After graduating from Okeene High School, Norine attended Oklahoma College
for Women in Chickasha, pursuing a nursing degree.
On Dec. 29, 1939, Norine married the love of her life, Ray Dumler. They
spent their married years together raising their family and tending the
Dumler family farm along the Cimarron River northeast of Okeene.
She most enjoyed the frequent family gatherings at her house, which
routinely exceeded “35 kids.” At one of those get-togethers, she was asked,
“Mom, wouldn’t it be nice if we all moved back home?” to which she replied,
“I am so excited knowing you all are coming, but I am equally as excited
when you all leave.” She loved her family!
Norine was a lifelong member and very active in the First Christian Church
and Eastern Star of Okeene. She also was an active member of both the Circle
and Club organizations in the Isabella community, where ladies participated
in sewing and homemaking exchanges.
She lived on the family farm until 2007, when, for health reasons, she moved
to an assisted living center in Enid.
Norine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; two brothers and
their wives, Andy and wife Lydia, and Mark and wife Mary Ellen.
She is survived by her children, Larry Dumler and wife Teresa of Purcell,
Judy Kephart and husband Jess of Watonga, Linda Gray and husband Robert Dale
of Kremlin, and Jane Ann Beach and husband Paul of Bartlesville. She leaves
behind 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces,
nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church of
Okeene or Eastern Star Chapter of Canton.
