CARL L. BLUNK


ENID, OK - Funeral for Carl L. Blunk, 81-year-old Enid resident, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Garriott Road Church of Christ. Ray Rose will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Carl was born April 6, 1932, in Okeene to George and Bernadine (Moore) Blunk and died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

He attended Okeene schools and graduated from Okeene High School with the class of 1950. On May 6, 1953, he married Betty Tice in Okeene.

Carl was entered into the U.S. Army six days later, and when his service was complete the couple made their home in Enid.

He worked for a time at Morris Thrifty Wise and then later for the Enid Post Office. He retired from the post office after 28 years of service. He and his wife also owned and operated B&B Enterprise for several years.

He was a longtime member of Garriott Road Church of Christ.

He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed O.U. and Dallas football, golfing and watching his son's dirt track racing.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; sons, Kenneth Wayne Blunk and wife Peggy, Steve Blunk, and Scott Blunk and wife Serena, all of Enid.; three grandchildren, Randy, Shaun and Melissa; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Blunk and wife Mildred of Wichita, Kan.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by his special friend, "Zoe."

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Pamela Sue.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to Garriott Road Church of Christ.
