EDDIE B. BIERIG


ENID - Funeral service for Eddie B. Bierig, 79, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at United Methodist Church, Okeene, with David Prouty and Rev. Jan Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Okeene. Viewing will be 1-6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the church and before the service on Saturday. Online condolences may be given to the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com.

Eddie was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Enid to Floyd Prouty and Marie Stinson Prouty and passed from this life Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Okeene Hospital.

Eddies stepfather, Bert Witt and her mother raised her in Hennessey, where she graduated from Hennessey High School in 1949.

She married Earl Bierig in Hennessey on June 12, 1949. They lived in Okeene after their marriage.

Eddie was a dietician for the Annex and Okeene Hospital and worked for Warner Jewelers and Haffner Drug. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Okeene, being very active in UMW. Eddie was a member of Jacee Jaynes, involved in Girls Scouts, was an Avon lady and was Worthy Advisor for Rainbow. She loved to cook for family and church dinners.

Survivors include five daughters, Donna Jones and husband Jay of Tahlequah, Debbie Harder-Bullock and husband Lynn of Fairview, Dorothy Yoder and husband Rex of Thomas, Dale Douglas and husband Steve of Hennessey and Dixie Arnold and husband Decon of Okeene; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Eddie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; one daughter, Deann Luetkemeyer; one great-grandson, Allen Michael; and one son-in-law, Tim Harder.

Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
