Donald R. Nippert
(December 4, 1940 - June 27, 2016)

Donald Ray Nippert, aged 75, was born December 4th, 1940 to Harold and Maxine Nippert on the family farm southeast of Canton and passed away in the home of his son in Okeene on June 27th, 2016. He attended the Longdale Public Schools. Don was a brick mason in Long Beach, CA and was then employed by Rohr Industries in Riverside, CA. He then began working at the University of Southern California as maintenance technician. During this time he received an accommodation from the President of USC in 1965 for security provided to the university. Upon returning to Oklahoma in 1969, Don was employed as a contractor and then accepted a position at Sequoyah Spinning Mills in Watonga. During this time he started as an apprentice electrician for Oler Electric in Watonga. After becoming licensed as an electrician, he served several communities. He also farmed and had a swathing and baling business until his health deteriorated. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as watching the wildlife from his living room window while over looking his pond.

Don is survived by his son Robert and wife Shawn of Okeene, OK and their two children; Clay of Weatherford and Garrett of Canton; his son Chad of Woodward and his daughter Lily; his daughter Lynette and her family of Amarillo. Don is survived by his sister Linda and her husband Ronald Milligan of Canton and Karen and her husband Tom Robinson of Canton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and nephew.
