LAMAR C. BRIDGES

May 26, 1944 ~ Oct. 25, 2005

The funeral for Lamar Carl Bridges, 61, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Watonga, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church, Watonga. The Rev. Carle King will officiate. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Watonga. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home, Watonga.

He was born May 26, 1944, to Sydney and Lovesta Bridges and died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, in Oklahoma City.

He graduated from Watonga High School, served in the Army National Guard and was awarded the Sharpshooter Badge.

He married Leona Swanegan. He lived and worked in Oklahoma City in the tire industry. In recent years, he was employed by Community Action Agency working in maintenance for the Headstart program.

Surviving are one daughter, Kimberly LaDawn Bridges-Dobbins and one son, Lamar Carl Bridges Jr., both of Oklahoma City; three brothers and four sisters, Sidney Bridges of Santa Ana, Calif.; Hauley Bridges, Johnnie Mae Buchanan, and Marilyn Douglas, all of Watonga, Steve Bridges, Thelma Mewborn Orlando, and JoAnna Douglass Lenard, all of Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by three daughters, one brother and one sister.
