Funeral Service for Jerry Walter Pembrook, 69, of Ringwood, will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church followed by burial in the Longdale Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Jerry Walter Pembrook was born January 2, 1952, in Fairview, Oklahoma to Walter George and Minnie Belle (Lyons) Pembrook and passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at St Mary’s Hospital, Enid, Oklahoma.

Jerry grew up and attended school in Fairview, Oklahoma. Jerry started working at a very young age of 8 for the local theater and helping his mom at Shaffer Steak House. Jerry dropped out of school his ninth-grade year to work full time. Jerry was talking to the Army recruiters about joining, and a close friend talked him into going to Colorado and work in the oil field instead. This was the beginning of his long career working in the Oil and Gas Industry. One of his best friends, Kenny Teal, convinced Jerry to go to Columbia and work on drilling rigs. Over the next 40 plus years he worked his way from general laborer to General Manager and worked all over South America. December 7, 1991 while working in Ecuador, he met Lucia Alexandera Guerra Cevallos and they were married in Quito, Ecuador. Near the end of his drilling career his company offered him a management job back in Colorado or Thailand. He always asked Lucia her opinion on jobs and she suggested Thailand. So, with his family they spent the next couple of years in Thailand and loved it. His last job before retiring was back in Venezuela.

Jerry was a hardworking man and never knew how to stop. He loved his yard and his grass always had to be perfect. He spent hours making sure there were no stickers or weeds and that it was fertilized properly and always mowed perfect. Even after he got sick, he would sneak out and mow the grass. He also loved farm animals of all kinds. One time in Enid, Lucia let him and his daughter Christina go into Atwood’s without her and they came out with baby chickens and ducks. But his love was not limited to just chickens and ducks, he gave his daughter Tonya, who was six, two baby pigs that she adored. You could see that maybe Jerry was a farmer at heart.

The last few months he was a stay-at-home husband. He spent his time taking care of the house and all of his chores. He would do the laundry and cooking so when Lucia got home from work everything was done. Because, he was such a good house keeper, Lucia called him her little Cinderello. He also found a new love, running the vacuum cleaner. Jerry was a hard-working man of many talents, but most of all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather that always found time for his family. He will be truly missed.

Jerry is survived by his wife Lucia, one son, Bobby Gould and wife Tiffany, two daughters, Tonya Berry and husband Dillon, and Christina Pembrook, two brothers, Jimmie Pembrook and wife Karlene and Billy Pembrook and wife Michelle, one sister, Connie Hinchey and husband Paul, and four grandchildren, Tarashay Ellis, Everly Berry, Colton Gould and wife Cristal and Derek Gould.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, one son, Anthonny Pembrook, two sisters, Marquetta Pembrook and Veta Thomas, and one brother Danny Fay Pembrook.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his daughter collage fund with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. acting as custodian.
