The memorial service for Lester Gotte, 80, of Longdale, will be 2 p.m. Thursday,
Feb. 12, 2009, at Longdale Community Church. Pastor Ray Schoonmaker will
officiate. Burial will be in Longdale Cemetery. His body was cremated at his
request. Arrangements are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
He was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Iota, La., to Webb and Mabel LeJune Gotte and
died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, in Enid.
He owned and operated Gotte's Construction Co. and a water company in Hardy,
Ark., for 43 years. He currently owned and operated the Walleye Motel and
Sportsman's Tavern in Longdale.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie of the home; two sons, Cullen Gotte of Oklahoma
City and Robert Gotte of Cherokee Village, Ark.; three stepchildren, Christopher
and Wesley Phillips and Jennifer Paskero, all of Scurry, Texas; one brother,
William Gotte of Texas; one sister, Anna Mae LaComb of Louisiana; nine
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter.
