The graveside service for Mildred Mae Snow, 87, of Fairview, will be 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, in Homestead Cemetery. The Rev. Leonard Koehn will
officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Viewing will be 9 a.m.
to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Oakwood to Clinton and Edith Kershner Beatey and
died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Fairview Regional Medical Center.
She was raised and educated in Oakwood.
She married Russell Howard Snow Sept. 16, 1939, in Watonga. They lived in
Southard before moving to a farm north of Southard, where they lived for 20
years. She was a homemaker. They moved to Okeene, where she worked at Okeene
Hospital as a nurse aide for 24 years, retiring in 1992. They moved to Fairview
in 1993. She volunteered at Canton Lake, serving as coordinator for the Tulsa
District Corps of Engineers. She was a member of the Christian Church. She
served as vice president of the Board of Directors for Fairview Senior Citizens
Center for the past four years.
Surviving are one son, James Snow of Levelland, Texas; four daughters, Donna
Wedel of Ringwood, Twilla Nickel of Fairview, Wanda Wedel of Bradley, Ark., and
Linda Kirk of Kaw City; one sister, Darlene Thomas of Watonga; 14 grandchildren;
and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, one infant daughter, three
brothers and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research
Foundation, MS division.
