Memorial Services for Berniece Kay (Grabow) Olson, 66, of Bixby, Oklahoma will be Saturday, March 29, 2014 to be held at the Longdale Gym, Longdale, OK at 11:00AM. The Reverend Ray Schoonmaker will officiate. Burial at 9:30 AM in the Homestead Cemetery will be prior to a memorial. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Berniece Kay (Grabow) Olson, 66, was diagnosed with cancer following gallbladder surgery and shortly afterward, passed away at her home in Bixby Ok. She was born December 8, 1947 to Henry and Rachel Ann (Martin) Grabow at Fairview Ok. The family lived east of Longdale on the Grabow Ranch, and Berniece attended the Longdale School through the 2nd grade. When Berniece was 8 years old the family moved three miles south of Canton, where Berniece attend and graduated from Canton High School in 1966. Berniece held up the Grabow name on the basketball court. At six foot two inches she had quite a hook shot under the goal. After graduation, she passed up a chance to play for a women’s traveling basketball team, called the Redheads, and attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK.

On January 30th, 1967, she married Tom Autry and moved to Two Rock Ranch Station, Petaluma, California while he was station n the Army. While there, daughter Brenda Kay was born June 5th 1968. Later, after his term in the service ended, they then moved back to Canton. In 1970, Berniece and her daughter, Brenda, moved to Enid where Bernice worked for Sears and Roebuck. In 1974, she moved to Tulsa and married Richard Behar, their daughter, Kay LeAnn Behar was born October 1, 1976. During this time, Berniece owned a custom drapery company and was busy raising her two daughters. After her separation from Richard, Berniece was employed as Director of Marketing for the Sheraton Skyline Hotel for two years. Later, she was employed as the Sales Manager for the Convention and Visitors Bureau for the City of Tulsa, with marketing areas in New York City and the Southeastern part of the United States. After a short moved to Kansas City, Berniece and her daughters moved back to Tulsa where she took a job as Director of Marketing for the Holiday Inn Hotel.

In 1989, a tall gentleman came into her life. With names like Claude and Berniece, she knew they were meant to be together. Love and laughter became part of her life again, and on May 4, 1990, they married.

They later moved back to Longdale for 6 years, and after the loss of Berniece’s mother, they returned to the Tulsa area. Berniece then got her real estate sales associate license and began selling real estate until she retired.

Berniece was very talented and loved to sew. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t make. She even got into making porcelain dolls, where she not only made and painted the dolls from clay, she also made the clothes. She loved fishing, golf, bowling, and gardening.

Berniece was also talent building and remodeling. Not only did she have a great taste for decorating, she could tackle any remodeling job. Claude would never know when he came home from work, what wall she had started tearing out to redo. Claude still has a substantial TO DO LIST to complete.

Berniece leaves behind her loving husband, Claude F Olson of Bixby, OK, two daughters, Brenda K Brewer and husband George, of Glenpool, OK and Kay L Behar of Bixby, OK, two step-sons, Justin S Olson and Matt R Olson of Broken Arrow, OK, two grandchildren, Thomas J Hoffman and wife Christina, of Bixby, OK and Rachel A Collier of Broken Arrow, OK, two step-grandchildren, Noah Olson and Piper Olson of Broken Arrow, OK, two great grandchildren, Kelliann and Hunter Hoffman, one brother, Walter Grabow and wife Holly of Lomega, OK and two sisters, Cleta Becker of Fairview, OK and Sharie Smith and husband Bobby of Fairview, OK.

Berniece is preceded in death, by her parents and three sisters, Henretta Shaw, Kathern Unwin and Patricia Laubach-Bowers
