Funeral services for Dayson Melton York, 6 year-old Hydro, Oklahoma resident, was held on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Weatherford, Oklahoma with Pastor Ric Freeman officiating. Burial was followed in Hydro Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Dayson was born to Darren and Megan Kendall York on July 3, 1997, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Dayson was raised north of Hydro, Oklahoma. He was currently attending Hydro Schools where he was in Kindergarten. Dayson enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, t-ball, baseball, fishing, and playing with Denham and Wade. Memorials may be made to the Great Plains Family YMCA.
Dayson is survived by his parents, Darren and Megan York of their home in Hydro, Oklahoma; one brother, Denham York of the home; maternal grandparents, Leslie and Louise Kendall of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Kendall of Snyder, Oklahoma; maternal great-grandparents, Odis and Ruth Hopkins of Cooperton, Oklahoma and Raymond and Beverly Hensley of Mountain View, Oklahoma; paternal grandparents, Cheryl and Joe Foster of Custer City, Oklahoma and Richard and Phyllis McEntire of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; paternal great-grandmother, Ruth York of Hydro, Oklahoma; uncles, Lance Kendall of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Shawn Reeder of Hydro, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Durwood York and Royce Kendall.
