Violet Terecia (Rehl) Flaming
April 8, 1921 ~ December 24, 2017

Funeral services for Violet Terecia Flaming, 96 year-old Weatherford resident, will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 2:00 PM in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford with Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ebenfeld Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Violet Terecia (Rehl) Flaming was born April 8, 1921 to Alex Rehl and Katherine (Weber) Rehl in Longdale, Oklahoma and passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Violet was raised on a farm north of Longdale, Oklahoma. She attended school in Longdale and graduated with the class of 1939. On December 21, 1941 she married Edwin Flaming and made their home in Wichita, Kansas until 1947 and then settled in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and raised her family on a ranch west of Bartlesville. In 2008 she moved to Weatherford to be near her family. She attended the First Baptist Church in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Home Extension Club of Bartlesville. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, traveling, gardening, and reading. She especially loved reading the Bible to others.

Violet is survived by one son Charles Flaming and his wife, Linda, of West Long Branch, New Jersey; two daughters Lynne Thurman and her husband, Todd, of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Patricia Byers and her husband, Jack, of Alexis, Illinois; Eleven Grandchildren and Eighteen Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex Rehl and Katherine Rehl, her husband, Edwin Flaming, two brothers, Walter and Sam, and one sister, Elsie.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
