Cora (Knutson) Halverson

April 26, 1888 ~ December 25, 1979

Watonga – Funeral services for Cora Halverson, 91, who died Tuesday in a Kingfisher hospital, will be at 2 PM Friday in the First United Methodist Church at Watonga. The Rev. Richard Hedger will officiate and burial will be in the East Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Watonga.

The Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Halverson was born April 26, 1888, at Belmont, North Dakota, the daughter of Sven and Jorgina Knutson. She attended schools and grew up in North Dakota.

She and Andrew Halverson were married in 1907 in North Dakota. They moved to Watonga in 1917 where he operated a dairy creamery.

Mrs. Halverson was a member of the Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and three sons.

Surviving are five sons, Sylvan Halverson of Gore, Lyle Halverson, Kingfisher, A. R. Halverson Jr., Oklahoma City, Jack Halverson, Moab, Utah, Bob Halverson, Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Betty Cearley of Dallas, Texas, two sisters, Edith Amundson, Downey, California, and Blanche Amundson of Fargo, North Dakota; 16 grandchildren; 22 great – grandchildren and five great – great – grandchildren.
