Robert K. Diamond

Robert K. Diamond
September 7, 1940 ~ January 29, 2025

Robert K. Diamond was born in Watonga, OK, on September 7, 1940, to William Diamond and Frances McBride Diamond. Robert passed away on January 29, 2025, at his home in Watonga, OK, at the age of 84.

He attended schools in Watonga. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard Company "L" 179th, 45th Infantry Division from 1955-1958. He was inducted in the U.S. Army in 1963, where he served at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, as a Honest John/Little John Missile crewman.

He married Kathryn Hoos on July 22, 1963. They made their home at Lawton until his discharge in 1964. They moved to Enid shortly after where he joined the carpentry union #763. He worked for many contractors in the Enid area. He worked for D.C. Bass for 15 years as a building superintendent. He was also a pastor at the Baker Street Bible Church in Enid for 13 years. In 1988, he retired and moved back to Watonga and provided services to the county jail and the Diamondback Correctional Facility until he was unable to do so. He was an assistant pastor at the Gospel Alive Church in Watonga.

Surviving Robert is his wife, Kathryn Diamond of the home Watonga, OK; his children, Cheryl Elder and husband Craig of Verden, OK, Cindy and wife Rhonda Stevison of Enid, OK, and John Diamond of Watonga, OK; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ted Cox of Long Island, NY; as well as many friends and other family members.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Diamond; his son, Robert William Diamond; his infant daughter, Christina Marie Diamond; his sister, Rose Grillo; and his nephew, Charles Felder.

Graveside Services: East Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Saturday, 2:00 p.m. February 1, 2025, Watonga, OK, with Pastor Pat Brewer officiating.

Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Geary, OK.
