Jul 7, 1946 - Oct 1, 2013
Submitted by Ann Weber
Terry grew up with an older sister, Carolyn Cox Nelson and younger brother, Danny Hysell. He attended school at Southard and Canton. He was in the National Guard and received an honorable discharge. He met Dian York and a forever love was born. They were married on June 3, 1967 at Woodward, OK. They were blessed with a son, Terry Hysell, Jr. and wife Leigh Ann; a daughter, Lona Hysell Lucero and husband Tony; and a son Jody Hysell and wife Mindy; He gave his children a precious gift, his time. He and Lona were a cooking duo, and tended a vegetable garden together. He never missed Terry or Jody's football games, and enjoyed taking them fishing again and again. The blessings never ceased, nine grandchildren, in order of age: Tyson Haworth and wife Kathleen, Terra Hysell Hankins and husband Jack, Tiffany Haworth Estrada and husband Rob, Nicole Hysell, Kolby Hysell and fiance Alex Palacios, Ashlyn Lucero, Sydney Hysell, Chase Hysell and KaLee Hysell, whom has the same birthday as her grandpa; one great-grandaughter, Hayden Paige Estrada;
Terry's life was centered around his love of God, his family and friends. When still able, he loved going to the Church of Christ. He worked at U.S. Gypsum, the concrete construction business for 12 years, Hysell's Sportsmans Cafe, woodworking and small engine repair. He was preceded in death by his dad, Johnnie Gose; mother Opal Pinkerton Hysell; grandparents John Gose, Sara Jane Gose, Ralph and Emma Pinkerton; He was a deeply rooted man that loved his family as his family loved him. In our hearts Terry will live forever.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Canton Church of Christ with Jerry Bradford officiating. Interment will follow in Cherryvale Cemetery east of Canton under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. Condolences may be made online at www.haiglerpierce.com.
