Eleanor Red Cherries

A wake service for Eleanor Red Cherries, 82, will be 8 p.m. today, Sept. 10, 2008, at Indian Baptist Church. Paul Bear Track will officiate. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at the church. Gerald Watson and Gerald Panana will officiate. Burial will be in Cantonment Cemetery. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.

She was born Dec. 16, 1925, in Longdale to Bull Coming Up and Gainy White and died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Seiling Municipal Hospital.

She was raised east of Seiling and attended Seiling Schools, graduating from Seiling High School.

She married Franklin Red Cherries Dec. 25, 1947. She was a homemaker and a member of the Native American Church. She was baptized at the Indian Methodist Church, Seiling.

Surviving are three daughters, Norene Harris, Lenora LaFountain and Renecia Harris; two sons, Adolph Red Cherries and James "Hicks" Red Cherries, all of Seiling; 18 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin, one daughter, one son, one brother, and two sisters.
