William "Bill" Pratt, Jr.
July 25, 1936 ~ March 14, 2018

William (Bill) Pratt was born July 25, 1936 at Clinton, OK to Pauline Meat and William Pratt Sr. His journey home began on March 14, 2018 at Moodys, Oklahoma.

William attended Chilocco Indian School, Chilocco, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Navy from October 1956 to November 29, 1959, traveling as far as Okinawa, Japan. He worked in steel mills, on oil rigs, and finally as a painter. He traveled the United States for his jobs. William loved to gourd dance, help at pow wows, traveled to Wyoming for the Sundance and worked on Native American arts and crafts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Meat and William Pratt Sr.; brothers, Jimmy Scabbyhorse, Ronald Gene Shawnee, Albert Meat, Joseph Meat and Tirador Pratt; sisters Joyce Shawnee, Eva Meat, Lela Howell, Phyliss Pratt, Marian Holsapple and Iva Pratt.

He is survived by his sister Maria Renee Meat and husband Charles Surveyor; daughters Elana Nells, Debbie Blackfox, Diana Orr and Chelsia Pratt; sons William Pratt III, Tony Pratt, William St. Clair, Eldon St. Clair, Troy Lee and Sheldon Hawk; sisters Terri Waterman and Belle Jean Williams; Numerous relatives, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

An all-night wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m., Saturday evening, March 17, 2018 at the Canton Native American Gym. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the same venue with Rev. George Akeen, Jr. and Rev. Gerald Panana officiating.

Interment will follow in the Canton Indian Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
