Kerwin Scott Medicine Bird LittleThunder, 54, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Watonga, Oklahoma. Kerwin was born on December 9, 1965 at Clinton, Oklahoma to parents Joseph LittleThunder and Ethelyn Behan.
Kerwin was raised in the Canton community and graduated with the class of 1984 at Canton High School. He worked for several farmers in the Canton area and also worked at the casinos in Canton and Watonga. He enjoyed going to casinos, being in the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Kerwin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Frank “Butch” Medicine Bird, Jr., Gerald Medicine Bird and Joe Medicine Bird; sisters Frankie Medicine Bird Hail and Willene Medicine Bird; Survivors include his longtime companion, Kim Black Johnson; one brother, Murray Medicine Bird; three sisters, Myra Medicine Bird, Fran Wilson and husband Dennis and Edwina Whiteman and husband Chester; numerous nieces, nephews and many grandkids.
Wake services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday evening, February 24, 2020 at
the Canton Native American Gymnasium. Funeral services will be held at 1:00
p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the same venue with Reverend Gerald Panana
and Reverend Waylon Upchego officiating. Interment will follow in Cantonment
Cemetery west of Canton Lake under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
