Malcolm Fanman

April 19, 1961 ~ Nov 15, 2012

CANTON - A traditional Indian wake for Malcolm Fanman, 51, will be 7 p.m. today, November 18, 2012, and funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cheyenne & Arapaho Gymnasium. Interment in Cantonment Cemetery under direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home.

Malcolm was born April 19, 1961, to David and Annie (Allrunner) Fanman and died November 15, 2012.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kingsley Fanman and James Fanman; and one nephew, Russell Fanman.

Surviving are siblings, David Jr., Beulah Fanman and Janice Fanman, of Arizona, and Linda Jensen and Rose Fanman of New Mexico and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A traditional Indian wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening, November 18, 2012 at the Cheyenne & Arapaho Gymnasium in Canton, OK for Malcolm Fanman, 51, of Canton, OK. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2012 at the same venue with Pastor Gerald Panana officiating. Interment will follow in Cantonment Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

Malcolm Fanman was born April 19, 1961 at Clinton, OK to David and Annie Marie (Allrunner) Fanman, Sr. He departed this life on Thursday afternoon, November 15, 2012 at Gallup, NM.

Malcolm was raised west of Canton and graduated from Canton High School with the class of 1979. As a youngster, he liked to play basketball. He enjoyed life and time spent with his family. He worked for many years with Tom Evans and Tom Evans, Jr. farming and ranching. Malcolm is remembered as a hard worker, a man that could operate any farm equipment and a skilled fence builder. He also traveled north many summers on harvest crews up to Montana and back south through the plains. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Kingsley Fanman and James Fanman; and one nephew, Russell Fanman; Survivors include one brother, David Fanman, Jr. of Ft. Defiance, AZ; four sisters, Linda Jensen of Santa Fe, NM, Janice Faye Fanman of Glendale, AZ, Rose Fanman of Farmington, NM and Beulah Fanman of Ft. Defiance, AZ; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Condolences may be made online at
