McKenzie Rae "Toots" Blackwolf
December 26, 1982 ~ August 4, 2013

McKenzie Rae Blackwolf, aka "Toots", was born December 26, 1982 in Okeene, OK to the late Tommy Joe Blackwolf, Sr. and Alana Deene Blackwolf. She departed this life on Sunday evening, August 4, 2013 at Canton, OK. She attended Canton schools. McKenzie enjoyed playing handgame and going to pow-wows. She was a proud member of the Arapaho nation. She participated in her ceremonies in Ethete, WY for the Arapaho Sundance. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making everyone laugh. The greatest blessing to her was her daughter, Nikota Lynn, whom she loved with all her heart.

She is survived by her daughter Nikota Lynn Blackwolf-Haag of Calumet, OK; mother Alana Blackwolf of Canton, OK; sister Jamie Yellowfish and her husband James of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers Tommy “Joey” Blackwolf, Jr. and Corey James Blackwolf of Canton, OK; loving companion Dorothy Carrasco of Kingfisher, OK; three nephews, Chris Fairbanks, Jr., Desmond Fairbanks and Nea'he Fairbanks of Oklahoma City, OK; and many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents; She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Joe Blackwolf, Sr.; maternal grandparents, James Scabbyhorse, Cora and Jed Querdibitty; great-grandparents, Arapaho Chief Arthur Sutton and Sallie (Blackbear) Sutton; paternal grandparents, Thomas Joseph Blackwolf and Lena Smoker;

Traditional wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Canton Native American Gymnasium and funeral services at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at the same venue. Reverend George Akeen, Jr. and Pastor Gerald Panana will officiate. Interment will be in Canton Indian Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
