Seger Williams Sr.
February 15, 1960 ~ April 11, 2023

Seger Williams Sr. (Indian name Coouutiieihii meaning High Eagle) was born on February 15, 1960 to Kenneth and Ida Lena (Nibbs) Williams at Clinton Indian Hospital and departed his life at Integris Hospital in Yukon, OK on April 11, 2023.

Seger grew up and attended high school in Canton then went on to attend Riverside Indian School. He was an active participant in Boxing for two years and fought as a novice boxer. He entered the Region 5 National Indian Amateur Boxing tournament. After graduation, he entered the United States Army. After serving his country, he attended Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas. After Haskell, he moved to Cherokee, North Carolina, where he lived and worked as a Bricklayer for 30 years. Then he retired and moved back to Oklahoma residing in El Reno. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren when they came to visit him from Cherokee, North Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Ida, sisters, Ida Mae Littlecoyote, Kathy Williams, and Verna Lou Williams; brothers Ted Williams, William Williams, and Tim Williams; nephew Levi Fourhorns and niece Amy Gould.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Elizabeth Wolfe of Cherokee, NC; sons Seger Williams Jr., Richard Williams, and Tyler Williams and daughter Shyreece Williams and 16 grandchildren. His sisters, Karen Fourhorns, Koreen Gaines, Canton, OK, Gail Williams and Ann Jean Williams, El Reno, OK and brothers Richard Williams, Canton, OK, Kenny Ray Williams, El Reno, OK and special nephew Tyrone Littlecoyote along with numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

An all night wake service will be held on Sunday, April 16 at the Williams Home Place - 3 ½ miles South of Canton on Hwy. 58. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Canton Emergency Response Center with Pastor Delfred White Crow, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Canton Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
