Monte Brent Smith
(November 22, 1934 - December 11, 2014)
Funeral services for Monte Brent Smith, 80, of Canton, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Canton Christian Church with Steve Driskill officiating. Interment will follow in Canton Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
Monte was born November 22, 1934 at Roswell, NM to Tex and Bertha (McCaffety) Smith. He left his loving family to be with the Lord on December 11, 2014. Monte led a full and happy life. He was full of love and was a person who lived his life for his Lord and Savior. His passing was a blessing after a long time of pain and suffering. He will be missed, but we know he is happy now. Monte was a good man and loved by everyone who ever met him.
Survivors include his wife Carmeta Charolett Smith of the home; two daughters, Armeta Kay Anderson of Ulysses, KS and Tommie Lavonda Balizan of Rifle, CO; one sister, Tomie Delle Drennan; one brother, Lenny Verne Smith; grandchildren Jared Wayne Anderson, Angela Kay Caldwell, Kendra Nicole Martinez, baby girl Smith, Devin Brent Smith, Miranda Kay Smith; seventeen great-grandchildren;
Memorials may be made to the Cal Farley Boy's Ranch, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Children's Diabetes Foundation or the Billy Graham Association with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.haiglerpierce.com.
