A wake service for Donald R. "Donnie" Reed, 50, of Watonga, formerly of Canton,
will be 6 p.m. today, Nov. 7, 2008, at Canton Senior Citizen Center. Gordon
Yellowman will officiate. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at
Canton Christian Church. Steve Driskill, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be
in Canton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
He was born March 22, 1958, in Clinton to Paul and Alda Ann Addison Reed and
died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, near Watonga.
He grew up at Eagle City, and later moved to the Canton area. He attended school
at Fay and Canton. He worked in the oil field and entered law enforcement. He
graduated from FETC criminal investigator training, Glynco, Geo. and was a
criminal investigator and chief of police with the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes.
He also served as a police officer at Canton. He later returned to the oil
industry working for John Thompson Enterprises and Brickman Oilfield Service.
He married Frankie Limpy. He later married Melissa Wilson, then married Lori
Acre.
Surviving are his wife, Lori Acre-Reed of the home; one daughter, Donita Reed of
El Reno; three sons, Galen Reed and Sean Reed, both of El Reno, and Chris Wilson
of Fairview; his mother, Ann Reed of Canton; three sisters, Bonita North and
Debbie Plummer of Woodward, and Valarie Sue Reed of Canton; two brothers, Darrel
Reed and Paul Reed Jr., both of Canton; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, and one brother.
