Graveside services for Ray D. Rash, 79, of Longdale, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Canton Cemetery with Pastor Travis Howerton officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
Ray Duncan Rash was born on June 19, 1940 at Urbana, Missouri to George Ray and Rosa Helen (Duncan) Rash. He departed this life to join his beloved wife Clemmie on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Enid, Oklahoma.
Ray grew up in Missouri, graduating with the class of 1958 at Lexington High School in Lexington, Missouri. He served a two year stint in the U.S. Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1960. His work brought him to Oklahoma where he met and married Clemmie Ferguson. He owned and operated gas stations in Seiling and Fairview and Clemmie owned a cafe in Fairview near the current Bramco location. Ray began working for the City of Fairview in 1981 and retired from there after many years of service. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and running trotlines at Canton Lake.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Clemmie; and one sister, Flora. Survivors include three children, son Troy Rash and wife Windy of Victorville, California, two daughters, Marsha Gallo of Canton, Oklahoma and Staci Wanzer and husband Jose of Ringwood, Oklahoma; one sister, Georgia Cagle of Sedalia, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Amanda Hobbs, Cassandra Mileham, Troy Rash, Jr., Tyler Winn and wife Stephanie, Cody Winn and wife Lynsay, Kayla Lawson and Frankie Wanzer and wife Alissa; eight great-grandchildren, Cayden, Wyatt, McKinlee, Ava, Emerie, Jocelyn, Audrina and Aaliyah; Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association through the funeral home at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
