(September 4, 1947 - December 12, 2014)

Services to remember and celebrate Wesley Ray Masonhall’s life, will be held on Tuesday, December 16th, at 2:00 p.m., at the Canton Schools Multi-Purpose building with Pastor Monte Michaelson officiating. Interment will follow in Canton Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

Wesley was born on September 4, 1947 in Watonga, Oklahoma to Glen Ray and Mamie I. Masonhall. He departed this life on Friday, December 12, 2014. He married Charlotte Kay Barker on November 17, 1974. They met while both were employed by the Corps of Engineers at Lake Texoma, and had just celebrated their 40th anniversary.

He graduated from Canton High School in 1965 and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1970. He taught school in Davidson, OK for three years. He then went to work for the Corps of Engineers, working at several different lakes. He left the Corps at his father’s request to help in the family’s farming operation. He continued running the farm until the time of his death.

He was a member of the Canton United Methodist Church all of his life, but for the last few years had been attending the Eagle City Christian Church.

He served on the Blaine County Conservation District for several years. He also served on the Canton Ambulance Board, and was an active member of the Eagle City Rural Fire District.

Wesley loved spending time with his family and made as many trips to Texas as possible to be with his daughter and her family. He was a proud grandfather who dearly loved spending time with his granddaughters and they with him. He enjoyed riding his Harley, and he and Charlotte had recently just returned from a 1,375 mile trip on it.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents Albert and Addie Masonhall, and Charlie and Maggie Acre; and father and mother-in-law Raymond and Joyce Barker of Denison, TX.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, of Canton, OK; one daughter, Addie Thornton and husband Danny of Prosper, TX; two granddaughters, Katie Sue and Sydney Rae; mother Mamie Masonhall; sisters Glenace Butler and husband Sherman of Carlsbad, NM and Kathryn Denton and husband Dean of Canton, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
