July 25, 1932 ~ July 23, 2018

Funeral services for Vesta Mae Leis, 85, life-long resident of Canton, OK will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at Canton Christian Church with Pastor Kraig Birchfield and Jim McGinn officiating. Interment will follow in Canton Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, OK.

Vesta Mae Leis was born July 25, 1932 at Canton, OK to Con O. and Vera Lee (Mitchell) Leis. She departed this life on Monday morning, July 23, 2018 at Fairview, OK.

Vesta Mae graduated from Canton High School with the class of 1950. She received her teaching degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Vesta taught high school in Canton for over 30 years and is fondly remembered by many as a favorite teacher. She loved animals, and usually cared for a dog or cat. Vesta also helped her mother with her flower shop in Canton.

Vesta was a member of the Canton Christian Church, Canton Alumni Association, Oklahoma Retired Educators Association, Eastern Star, Kappa Kappa Iota, Canton Walleye Rodeo Association and the Canton Senior Citizens. Besides being a member, Vesta also served as an officer in many of these organizations. 

Vesta Mae was preceded in death by her parents;

Survivors include many cousins and longtime friends.

Memorials may be made to the Canton Christian Church through the funeral home at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724.
