Kenneth Haigler
(October 12, 1937 - October 25, 2010)

Kenneth J. Haigler, of Frisco, TX, died on Monday, October 25, 2010 at Baylor Plano Hospital in Plano, TX. Ken was born October 12, 1937 in Canton, OK to James M. and Roxie B. Haigler. He attended public school in Canton, where he played on the undefeated Tiger football team of 1955. Ken attended Southwest Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK where he played football for two seasons, and graduated from The University of Oklahoma in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering, followed by a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering. While attending Oklahoma University, Ken was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and The Petroleum Club. As an alum, he was a member of The President’s Associates, and served on the advisory board for the College of Engineering. After graduating, Ken worked for Atlantic Richfield as a Petroleum Engineer for many years, finishing his career in Human Resources. He retired from Atlantic Richfield in 1994 in Dallas, TX. Ken was the Personnel Director of the original group that established The Alaskan Pipeline, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Frisco. Ken served on various boards, including Theatre Three, Inc. located in uptown Dallas, and Children’s Rehabilitation Institute and Surgery Program helping underprivileged children in the United States and abroad. He enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid fan of Oklahoma Sooner football. Survivors include his children, Scott Haigler and wife Louise Haigler, granddaughters SarahBeth Haigler and Laura Haigler all of San Antonio, TX, Jeffrey Haigler and wife Stephanie Haigler of New Orleans, LA, and Jane Haigler and grandchildren Maddox Horton and Molly Horton of Winston, GA. Ken was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2010 at Frisco First United Methodist Church with senior pastor Doug Miller officiating. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2010 in Canton Cemetery, Canton, OK with Steve Driskill, pastor of Canton Christian Church officiating.
