Rosemary Grauberger

The funeral service for Rosemary (Childs) Grauberger, 82, of Canton will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2011 at Canton Christian Church with Steve Driskill officiating. Interment will follow in Canton Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

Rosemary was born February 4, 1929 at Canton, OK to parents Chase William and Lulu Fern (Tichenour) Childs. She departed this life Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Okarche, OK

Rosemary married John Reginald Grauberger on December 22, 1946 in Canton, OK. She graduated from Canton High School and worked for many years as a nurse. Rosemary’s life was dedicated to her faith, her family and friends and to her profession of nursing. She made many life-long friends during her career in the Okeene and Fairview Hospitals and in the offices of Dr. Louis Belter and Dr. H.B. Boughan, such as Donna Swaim, Joyce Osmus, Eloise Quiring, Arlen Koehn and Verla Long.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Grauberger, Sr.; children James Ray and Jonnie Lu; granddaughter La Von Rose; sister Peggy Lou and brother Chase; Survivors include her children, Sharon Pratt and husband Gary of Enid, OK, John Grauberger, Jr. and wife Cindy of Okarche, OK, Pam Doak and husband Gary of Canton, OK and son Jay Grauberger of Okeene, OK; nine grandchildren, Lori Maxwell, James Walters, Eddie Paulsen, Len Walters, Jason Grauberger, Nichole Schwarz, Billy Doak, Riley Grauberger and Kim Doak; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and fourteen step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren; sister Carol Myers and husband Homer, brother William Childs and wife Joyce and sister Kathryn Huffhines;

Memorials may be made in Rosemary’s name to the Canton Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.haiglerpierce.com.
