Graveside services for Mary Jo George, 72, of Ponca City, OK, formerly of Canton, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Canton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, OK. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the graveside service.
Mary Jo was born August 6, 1945 at Oklahoma City, OK to Lloyd and Mary (Mauldin) Lance. She departed this life surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK. Mary Jo graduated from Canton High School. She had worked as a cook at several restaurants. Mary Jo enjoyed spending time with her family and her favorite game was Yahtzee.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jeanie Watt. Survivors include four children, daughter Veronica Weed of Bessemer, AL, son Terry Weed and wife Elizabeth of Oklahoma City, OK, son James Martin of Stephenville, TX and daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Arriaga and husband Carlos of Wichita, KS: five grandchildren, Lance Weed, Joey George, Craig Martin, Jade George and Paris George; two great-grandchildren, Anna Weed and Brynna George; three brothers, Lloyd Lance and wife Betty, Michael Ellison and wife Donita and Dale Emmons and wife Kathy; Condolences may be made online atwww.piercefuneralhomes.com.
