CANTON - The funeral for Freelin Ruth Doak, 83, of Canton, will be 2 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Canton Christian Church. Joe Hart will officiate.
Burial will be in Canton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral
Home, Canton.
She was born May 27, 1926, in Butler to Sam and Ruby Woffard Birdwell and died
Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at Fairview Fellowship Home.
She married William Leslie Doak Jan. 23, 1945, in Custer City. They lived in
western Oklahoma most of their married life, moving to Watonga in 1976. He died
in 1993.
She moved to Canton, living there until February 2008, when she moved to
Fairview Fellowship Home.
Surviving are five daughters, Carolyn Killman of Ringwood, Winnona Bridgeford
of Canton, Patty Conkling of Longdale, Darlene Doak of Lahoma and Brenda Doak of
Canton; three sons, L.D. Doak of El Reno, Gary Doak of Canton and Randy Doak of
Okeene; three brothers, Frank Birdwell of Weatherford, Paul Birdwell of Burns
Flat and Vernon Birdwell of Elk City; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her husband, Leslie, she was preceded in death by one brother,
one sister and three great-grandsons.
