Private family funeral services will be held for Peggy Cloud, 93, of Canton, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
Peggy was born May 28, 1928, in Henderson County Texas, to parents Allen and Gladys (Hill) Barton. She attended school in Palestine, Texas and college in San Marcos, Texas. Following college she moved to Houston, Texas where she met and married Jack Cloud, her husband of many years. After moving around Texas for Jack’s job, and having three children, the family returned to Jack’s hometown of Thomas, Oklahoma. In 1957, they moved to Canton, Oklahoma, where they owned and operated a grocery store for many years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. Peggy loved bird watching and photographing birds and old barns. She also loved to travel, and while traveling, she was continually adding to her collection of rocks, fossils, and seashells. She was an avid flower gardener and was a member of several local garden clubs.
She departed this life on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack Cloud, and two sisters. Survivors include children: son Mike Cloud and wife Robbie of Edmond, OK, granddaughters Shannon and husband Dale Thomas and great grandson Chandler, Cristin and husband Bobby Seal and great grandsons Blake, Corey, and Alec; daughter Pat Scott of Moore, OK, grandson Jeff and wife Trish Scott, great grandsons Brady and Callen, granddaughter Kim and husband Tony Frasher and great granddaughter Sophie; daughter Jackie Darr of Canton, OK, granddaughter Tina and husband Tony Eyler and great grandson Daniel, grandson Jesse Darr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Canton. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com
