Posted by Ann Weber
David Merrill Blood was born February 15, 1967 at Okeene, OK to Ernest Elvin and A'Nita June (Roberts) Blood. David married Wanda Hadley on December 18, 1993 at Longdale, OK. They made their home in Longdale until moving to Canton where they were raising their family. David worked in the oilfield for most of his life. He was a hard worker, enjoyed his work and was proud to be a roughneck. David enjoyed fishing, camping, grilling and just being outdoors on a nice day. He liked a cold beer and to watch a good ballgame, especially when his OU Sooners were playing, and better yet if they were winning. Material things meant very little to David. The thing that gave David the greatest joy in life was his family. They were his greatest pleasure in life and he loved nothing better than to be surrounded by them.
David had a giving heart and in his death he was able to give many people a chance to have a longer and more fulfilling life by being an organ and tissue donor. David left this earth on May 11, 2013 to join his mother A'Nita Blood, his brother Charles Wayne Blood, his grandparents, Merrill and Clemma Roberts and Charles and Vivian Blood and his beloved father-in-law, Joe Hadley.
David leaves behind his wife Wanda Blood and his five children, Easton Blood and Lacy, Zachariah Blood, Anita Blood and Austen, Samantha Blood and Devin Blood. Three grandchildren, Taelyn and Evelyn Blood and Falon McKinley, who also has a baby brother or sister on the way. His father, Ernest Blood, one sister, Christine Whetstone and husband Randy, and his mother-in-law Delores Hadley. He also leaves behind his sister-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. David will be missed by many.
A wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday evening, May 16,
