LaDonna Westfahl was born on May 23, 1958, in Borger, Texas, and died June 8, 2020, in Oklahoma City after an 11 year battle with cancer.
LaDonna attended elementary school in Hitchcock, Oklahoma, and was always a proud Trojan. She graduated from Okeene High School and Southwestern Oklahoma State University, LaDonna was an elementary school teacher for 29 years at Ames and Okeene Public Schools where she taught special education, reading, gifted and talented, regular classroom and coached girls basketball.
LaDonna married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Westfahl, on July 15, 1978. Kenny and LaDonna were blessed with three sons. They watched them grow up as Okeene Whippets, like their parents. She has three grandchildren that were the joy of her life.
LaDonna enjoyed Okeene sports, Oklahoma State University football, computer games and Words With Friends. She enjoyed travel, cruises and going to Yellowstone with her family. LaDonna loved watching her grandchildren play sports and dance. She was also very active in Relay For Life where she served on the committee of the Blaine County Chapter. She was a member of the Altar Society and served as a lecturer at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Okeene.
LaDonna is survived by her husband, Kenny, parents Sanie and Edna Day of Okeene; brother Micheal Day and wife Lori of Ames; son Luke Westfahl, wife Laurie and their children Colin, Cameryn, and Claire of Edmond ; son Micah Westfahl and wife LaChelle of Norman; son Drew Westfahl and wife Kristin of Edmond; many uncles, aunts, nephews, neices, in-laws and friends.
Viewing will be Wednesday, June 10 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday, June 11 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Wilkinson Mortuary in Okeene. Rosery will be held at 6:00 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Okeene on Thursday, June 11. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 12 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church followed by internment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Relay for Life or the St. Anthony's church hall fund through the funeral home.
